“Wow! That is how I would have to describe the NeoGraft procedure. The procedure was amazingly simple! After I left the office I did not have to take any pain medication, and aside from wanting to itch the graft area, the procedure did not affect my daily life in the least. I am 44 years old and was balding in the crown area and have already had friends comment on the difference and it has only been 4 weeks! Thanks for a great job and making me look and feel younger!!!” - M.C.*
Hair Restoration for Men faqs
1) We Use Industry-Leading Technology for Hair Restoration
The newest method of hair transplantation is called FUE (follicular unit extraction). From a surgical standpoint, a FUE hair transplant is safe and non-invasive procedure.
Many hair restoration doctors do not offer the FUE procedure because there are some nuisances associated with an FUE hair transplant. First, the FUE transplant without the NeoGraft automated device is done manually, which can be very tedious, time consuming and not cost effective for patients. Forceps are used in a manual FUE to extract and implant the follicles which can damage them. The FUE procedure is complex and takes time for doctors to learn. They would rather perform the more invasive, faster “strip” or Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) surgery.
With a NeoGraft Hair Transplant machine, the problems with a manual FUE procedure have been eliminated. A FUE hair transplant with NeoGraft can be performed in the same amount of time as a “strip” hair transplant, thus reducing the cost of a FUE transplant. To reduce the time spent on the transplant, NeoGraft uses pneumatic pressure to extract the follicles and implant them. This eliminates the need for handling the grafts with forceps that can damage them. With NeoGraft technology, the transection (damage) rate is extremely low.
2) What happens during the hair restoration procedure?
The FUE hair transplant is a minimally invasive procedure. Each graft from the back of the head of the donor area is harvested individually and placed in the thinning or balding areas on the top of the head. The hair found at the back of the head is genetically programmed not to fall out, meaning not affected by the DHT hormone. The NeoGraft medical device is designed to help doctors offer their Northern VA hair restoration patients the most advanced procedure in hair transplantation.
3) Will there be any scarring?
With the FUE method, there is little bleeding and fewer complications than with the “strip” method. No intravenous or intra-muscular sedation is required. The FUE method has no linear scars unlike the “strip” method that stretches out over time and become visible, which makes it difficult to wear short hair. With FUE, there is no visible scarring allowing the hair to be worn short. Damage to nerves or major blood vessels are unlikely with FUE and less limitations on what activities you can do for the first few weeks after surgery. The “strip” surgery can leave you feeling your scalp is too tight from the suturing.
4) What results can I expect from hair restoration?
Your hair restoration results will depend on how many follicles are being transplanted. The NeoGraft medical device has been developed to assist the doctor with the FUE procedure to make the procedure simpler, faster and more efficacious. Expect natural-looking results.
